I'll look at Randy's boat next time I see him. Probably Wednesday. If there is any identification on the platform I'll get a pic.

not knowing your hardware/pump set up, it's difficult to come up with an idea what's causing this, but it almost sounds like the boat is trying to bow steer at speed, which isn't a good thing.
your swim platform looks like it came out of a mold somewhere. very nice. i still have a couple pieces of teak on each side, which just isn't satisfactory.

caswell how fast have you had your's? What power level are you running and whats your pump setup? Or does any one know what kind of horsepower I need to hit 70 with an A2 impeller?

I have a stock engine with only a cam...the engine was professionally rebuilt by a shop that no longer exist...I know the previous owner could not have touched it...so I know nothing about the set up...I do know the pump is not optimal...I will tear it down this winter...now I just hope it holds for the summer. There is a good thread on rebuilding a 455 on this site.

What model pump & impeller do you have? Also where does your engine top out in both speed and RPM's.

I have had the Montera on the water only 3 times...only twice since repairs....I'm sure I havent even broke 5m rpms...My Montera has a 460 Ford in it ...probably will not reach 55 mph...it is a heavy boat...I know it is not as fast as my 455 in my Sleekcraft, which I have detuned so it will not break 5m rpm...the rpm guage doesnt work...I am replacing all the guages soon...I am not strong in the gearhead department...but I suggest you shoot for no less than 425 to 475 hp.

Wind was up pretty good Wednesday. Randy and family did not come out. I'll try again next week.

It seems I'm missing the second part of the bellhousing. The part that bolts to the jet end. Can this be bought separate? Where? Thinking I'm going to re-wire this boat, getting anal as I age it seems, haha

I;m sure you can get that part. Try Tom @ Jet Boat Performance. He has a pretty good collection of used parts I believe.

Well Tom tried but he only has 1 left and he needs it to copy it. So I need to make one or find one somewhere else.

I would say eBay or keep an eye on the parts forum here and at Performanceboats.com Maybe even post a WTB in those sections.
Randy was not at the lake again this week. As soon as I see him again I will get pics.
