It is now running a GM 502 stroked to a 540 producing 605.9 HP at 5300 rpm. Once the boat is all back together, I am sending a 30P Bravo 1 to BBlades to have it labbed. Last summer I took it out a couple of times to just get a feel for it before I started the restoration. It will run 77 mph on GPS with the stock 26P, not sure of the rpm due to the fact that it broke after tapping on the Tach too hard. I have since purchased a complete new Livorsi gauge pack. My concern is that this is going to be a family boat, and I don't want to endanger them or anyone else that I might have the pleasure to take out. From my understanding that once you start running 80+ MPH you need to upgrade your steering. The question is... Does anyone know of any integrated transom steering systems that I can get installed without having to cut or modify the swim steps? Any and all recommendations are greatly appreciated.
The Mercury Racing ITS fits perfectly with no cutting into the swim steps. Uncle Dave has this set up on his 20.8. Also, this thread has a lot of useful information on the 20.8's http://www.screamandfly.com/showthre...brings!/page24

I was hoping to not have to replace my OD. Any other suggestions?

Been looking into this chatting with Chris and some others, I think Latham can make a top cap based external system that MIGHT work.

    UD,
It's all back together and have been enjoying it thoroughly. Family loves it, I'm still concerned with the steering from a safety standpoint. Just sent my 30P Bravo One off to be worked, and know I'm going to be running low to mid 90's. Did you happen to hear back from Latham?
