Need trailer ideas for a Virage

    Hey All,

Pickep up my Virage yesterday and I hate the trailer, got half way home and realized the bow winch was not holding the bow down and it ripped the caulking from the cap to hull seal because the bow would bounce off the winch roller over bumps. I strapped it down for the rest of the trip but currently I just do not think there is enough bunk support.

Where is the best place to support the bottom and how far forward from the transom should the be. Any ideas would be great.

    Regards,

    Dave

    Ronnie,

It is white with blue markings. Stage 1 early 89 I am assuming. All original condition. He has owned it since 94. No Transom crazing and only a couple very small cracks at the steering cable exit holes, almost like they did not pre-drill the holes for the caps as the cracks are identical. Cannot wait to get the 280 on it.

So I have been looking for a couple days, I am a dealer for ez-loader and Venture. Would an STV trailer be the ideal trailer or buy a bunk trailer and make the bunks suitable. Is it ok to support the Virage on the flat of the bottom in side the sponsons or on the V. Any Virage owners wanna share some trailer pics please. Anyone have a pic of an actual HS Virage trailer.

    Thanks,

    Dave

my virage stage one is on a venture trailer. i will try to get some pictures later for you so you can see how it set on the bunks. i do have all the paper work from when the trailer was bought new. sorry i missed your call if you get pictures on your cell phone i could send them that way.

I think I found two problems with my setup. The trailer only has two crossframes and the boat is only supported (V support) and has the bunks to support the insides of the sponsons as well all for about 4-5' and the rest aft forward has no support and then the winch cable is actually level with the bow hook. So I am debating as to rebuild this trailer adding a third cross member and extending the bunks making them taller as well so the bow sits above the winch roller because this escort trailer is pretty decent. 15" wheels (needs new rubber), surge brakes (needs a master cylinder), needs new fenders and I would replace the bunk wood with PT and new carpet.
