Does the boat have a jackplate? If so what is the distance from the propshaft centreline to the bottom of the planing surface?

Also these boats get waterlogged making them very heavy.

A jackplate is a bracket that mounts between the transom and motor. Its purpose is twofold: to provide a means of adjustment of engine height and to set the engine back from the transom to change the boat's centre of balance.

Probably best to post a pic of your setup and go from there.

You may have too much prop there. What RPM does the engine run at when wide open?

Are you trying to nurse this thing up, or do you stand on it, and wait for it to catch?

Try a smaller prop, it should run at 5800 or so at full throttle.

The part number you gave is for a small ear 24 Chopper, it can't be a 4 blade.
