90s bravo to mercury six drive conversion..questions...

how much of a PITA is it to convert a early 90s bravo youtdrive to the dry sump six?

what im asking is, if i buy a boat with no power or outdrive, would it be very difficult to install a mercury racing sterndrive in it?and what would have to be done. i see the transom holes are different, what is the process for converting the transom hole?

i searched the forum and am sure it is here, but could find it.

Its not a PITA you have to close the holes and re-open them. You have to make sure you have a good X for it. A # 6 drive needs a trany or crash box to operate as in the bravo doesn't. Is it a dry sump or a wet sump ? They're completly different. What kind of boat and what kind of HP are you going to be running? This conversion has been done many times. this might actually sound assinine to some people, i want to find a 1990 28' twin tunnel sleekcraft enforcer and put a brand new mercury racing 1025 sci or 850sci in it with dry sump.its just a theory of mine that it will move nicely for a 28' single engine boat.
