    Hmmm... I wonder if this would be a good way to start off with these! It looks like the only "upgrade" to attain the claimed higher speed is the battery's, which I know aren't cheap. What you guys think? (I prefer Electric if possible)

    The Lipo batteries and the charger are a little costly on the initial investment, but if you take care of your packs and have the money- go for it.
    Traxxas Villian Ex (with all the upgrades) was my very first rc boat about 7 years ago. Had alot of fun with it.
    Shop Tower Hobbies for the 6s packs and a decent Lipo charger to get an idea of what it will cost ya.

    hey cltch the cheapest place to buy lipo batteries is at hobbyking olny bad part is the come from china so u kinda have to wait for them to b shipped
