WP for a 2010 Merc 115 4 stroke
I just picked up my new pontoon boat with the above motor and would like to install a WP gauge. All present gauges are Faria and they do make WP gauges but my question is how do you hook it up? The owner's manual for the motor does not cover this, and I really don't want to spring for a $90 service manual.
My thanks in advance......TJ

Why bother, you're never going to raise the motor far enough on the transom to need it. Put that money towards a good stainless prop.

I need the WP gauge because I cannot see the motor pee from the helm. Weeds and such could foul the intake. The trim gauge is needed for the same reason - I cannot see the motor from the helm. I do have a 19" SS cupped prop that will fit but I don't know if the motor will pull that one yet.

Mercury part number 79-859688Q05 is a kit complete with gauge, tubing, and fitting for block hook up. May not match you gauges though. The fitting only is Mercury part number 22-896094A01.

Thanks sxmerc - I think I will get the fitting only as Merc gauges are black and all the rest of mine are white. Where exactly does the fitting go?

Why not take advantage of the fact that your engine is a "smartcraft ready" engine? Just install a 3 3/8's inch MercMonitor.......it will give you all the info you need. Very cool features.

If you have a digital trim sender on your engine, then yes, that is an included feature. You should probably take a look at the info regarding SmartCraft available on Merc's website.

I put about 50 gallons of gas thru this motor this past week and am very impressed. Quiet and strong. I pulled 4 kids on a tube effortlessly. The 1st time I started it I grinded the starter because the motor idles so quietly I did not know it was running. Fuel economy is phenominal.
Smartcraft is the way to go I think - especially if I could hook up a depth sensor. Can this be done?

That is an option.

I have a 32ft Tracker and love my 115h.p. four stroke 2004 which makes it a Yamaha...great fuel economy. I have a trim gauge and water pressure gauge and cannot see the motor so you are correct in wanting and needing this... The water pump impellar lasts longer than the smaller one my 200 Bridgeport uses..Two years old and still pumps 20 lbs at 4,000 rpms....if you need a pic on where to install let me know...

Look on EBay for a better price on the manual. Gotta be cheaper than motor damage.
