    Thanks Jay always a pleasure to read your posts...another question...the 2.5 motors i gues and all the other chrome bore motors...was the chrome plating on the aluminum or was there a steel sleeve in there also?

    The Chrome plating was applied to aluminum..The Nickasil as well as the newer Nicom Platings is also applied to Aluminum.

    First promax that Mercury put out was a 200 and that was in late 93 which was a 94' model. I had one of the first one's, then Jay worked his majic on it.

    How are the pro max engines?
    Got a chance to pick up a real clean 2005 250 xs and wondered how it would perform on my 21' Skater, as compared to my '92 260 OS?

    '90 Skater 21, 280 OS
