    New Hull Design,,please Read

This all stems from a deep sadness of ot seeing a stream in competition, I did not see the 120 class of Lake racer though.

    WAZZZZUPPP WITH THAT

allison allsion allsion, stv stv astv stv stv stv stv mirage mirage 1/4 master 1/4 master 1/4 master allison allsion allsion allison allison WTF????????

    So,

What kinds of hull will it take to run with and Allison, STV, TRAD and bare the HydroStream Label ? Is it possible ?

Should it ne a Tunnel, XT, V ?

What kind of weight should it be dry hull ?

    Kevlar /biaxial sandwich, Kleg 75 ?

WHat type of pad, lift strakes, what will it take ? What would YOU like to see.

Remember this is for a race design.

    Lets see it !

    What happened to the Virage?
    http://www.hydrostream.org/Specific%20Models/Virage.htm

Everyone with one said it was great, but small on room. Not fast enough? We have better materials to make these things now for sure. I think it looks great. Just needs to be a BR, and put a rolling cover you can pull shut on there Maybe add a foot or two in length? What is wrong with it?

Funny how the molds for it never seemed to turn up...who has them?

Skip's already hit it right between the eyes. The Vector could be more than competitive if it was set up right. Anybody know where my old decked over Comp Vector ended up. I heard S E Ga. several years ago, but the trail is cold.

I asked the HydroStream guys at Jasper about a Viking type boat, one without tunnels with basically the old style bottom, but I don't think that's the direction they're headin' in. They did mention that they have a comp boat in the works, somewhere in the range of about 20'.

I'd really like to see the Streams back in the hunt. They were real competitive in a straight line in their day, and also had some success in the roundy rounds.

    OK RACEMAN

can ya elaborate a little more, so you think a V is the way to go, would you change any of the lift strakes or splash rails. Fiull pad? was size, how much should this thing tip the scales at bare hull ?

The guys at Atream have an open ear, hwll I am about ready to buy that darn tunnel boat software and spend a few sleepless night to try to figue something, Geeeeeeeeez splash the ally and put the hydrostream drop nose on it and put a coffin box on back and aero up the deck ?

Dont get me wrong THe Allys and STV's are EXCELLENT boats. It is just when you go to a hot both gathering there are a ton of streams, GO to the race you see how many? Maybe I am just living in the past....I know thats what ?? would tell me, but heck he runs a ???? kinda motor.

I am suprised that there are not any more posts on this.

Don't know much about the current rules and only entered one local event a few years ago.I won my class and tried to run Mod class even beat one of Lentzkows boats in the first round (he had me by 20 boat lengths but crossed the finish line on the wrong side). Sounds good anyway. As far as a boat goes I like the V hull myself and enjoy my V-King.Problem is its really a 15 footer with a long nose.I would like to see some classic Hydrostream lines in a full 18 footer with a more race only deck. Two seat open cockpit (so I can still get one for a laker) and a raised transom.I'll let somone else decide how to build it as long as it's light and strong.Like to see the grid look like this

allison Hydrostream allsion, stv Hydrostream astv stv stv Hydrostream stv mirage mirage 1/4 master Hydrostream 1/4 master allison allsion Hydrostream allison Hydrostream

OK, so is somebody going to tell me why nobody has tried a step hull/added steps? Can't turn it good?

One problem will be the fact that they will have to sell it and make $$$. If they can make a boat that is not just a race only hull, and can toss on a new top with a big interior to sell it; it will work. Lay it up light with a single seat for racing. Maybe race in more stock type classes and do a 120mph hull later?

I think one could make a tunnel and sell/race it too. The STV Euro is very close. The Virage could with more room if it can be made to compete. Also need the right people to go out there and whip some you know what.

Waternuts, I just always liked the Vectors and think one could be made competitive now. I know Howie Dean was foolin with one with some mods but never heard how he was doing with it. I've always felt that the Streams were years ahead of their time and wish the new Stream folks would build at least one of the Classics like the Vector/Viking/Viper. Of that group there's probably no question that the Viking would be the best choice for them and is the best all around boat in that bunch, but if I was gonna drag race a Stream it'd be a Vector.

Unless I'm mistaken, the Stream guy at Jasper told me that his new race boat would roughly resemble the Virage.

    I second that Norris

The Vector should be the one. Using some current thinking bottom mods and the use of the really good materials available today, I think it could really be a contender.

Kleg 75 and epoxy, what the heck else should I have built it with, Damn got my butt whooped at Japer for the pad no pad hook no hook deal.

Mine is a flat pad.....would like to run it in a real race at least once. but geeeezzz a vector lined up next to an ally is like USA vs IRAQ. I wouldn't mind getting whooped, but not half tracked.

I need to get this puppy to a scale and see what I end up with.
