Well i was finally able to mess with the prop vent hole plugs and try it without too many other people on the lake. Again not gps confirmed but was able to see consistent 82 mph out of it were it was reading a high of 80 before ... So raising the motor hight and using the 27 trophy seems to have freed up some speed. The boat seems to run a little flatter and does have quite a bit of torque steer now were as before it almost had none. I will try raising it to the last hole maybe this coming week. Hopefully see more speed and not get worse on the torque steer issue...... Still better than the 3.6gt as far as torque steer goes. Mike any pictures yet? Havent had too much time to browse all posts.

    SM or TM

I have the past summer with a very carefullness tried out the TM vs SM houses.

I used the same boat, engine and prop for both setups. V22/300XS/Merc Racing Bravo XS 27"

They are very close to each other on WOT but in the mid range the TM rules a lot with both better speed and consumption.

    Ex Figures
WOT 6300 rpm SM 82,1 Mph along pad
WOT 6300 rpm TM 81 Mpm along pad

Mid 4500 rpm SM 51 Mph 2" below
Mid 4500 rpm TM 56 Mph 2" below
I should go for the TM if I were you. Here in Sweden lots of Boatowners buys nosecones and SM-lower units without trying them out. In my opinion there is hard to find more speed with a SM with a Velocity 22 but it is a lot safer at 80 Mph an up.

I could also easily run the both SM and TM along the pad without any probs.

Here is two pics from the summer.

No, I think we have the same classes that you have. I just felt the hull was a little bit naked. But the sticker is all gone now bacause of the water&wind etc. The P stands for my name, Patrik and was born in 1964.

Kevlar, I called Steve Stepp last year and gave him my serialnumbers and he rembered my hull very well. He said it is only 20 pieces built in 100% Kevlar after 1994. Unfortunately the later is not as fast than the early V22s.

Maybe I can find a few more Mph if I extend myDetwiler 7" with a 4" Bobs bracket. If it works fine then I will buy a instant 10-12" Hydralic Jack Plate.

I also did a brand new transom last winter. My god...it was all wet and rotten. I even had to get rid of the fueltank beacause the standing "balsa" (wood, i not shure if I had the right name?) was rotten all the way under the fueltank.

Nothing news breaking for us lately.I did see 76 with the wife, myself and 50 gallons of gas in it,during a run around Baindbridge Island.I wasn't able to do much at all with it this summer, had a lot of things going on around the house.I do have a few ideas for over the winter that ill be doing.I do think touching 80 may be possible, but it won't do it everyday with a 250xs.These newer boats are definatley solid built to say the least.

Tistronskar - what year is your boat? Looks pretty new. It must have a rough life peviously that it needed a new transom?
You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift. You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong. You cannot help the wage earner by pulling down the wage payer. You cannot further the brotherhood of man by encouraging class hatred. You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich. You cannot keep out of trouble by spending more than you earn.
