exhaust
Power head, exhaust plate and bracket can stay on transom. Just drop lower and remove midsection. I think everyone is in agreement its mostly sound and maybe a little holeshot.

If the liner is still in the midsection....you will have to remove the powerhead,
adapter, and midsection. He only thing that will be left bolted to the transom is the swivel bracket and trim assy. PERFECT TIME TO UPGRADE TO SOLID MOUNTS! If the liner has been removed, then remove the lower and cut away! I even drilled and grinded my relieve holes at the top where the go straight in to the mid. You can look in the holes and see my drive shaft!!! SOUNDS SWEET!James Perry

Ahhhh man I have been wanting to drill out my exhaust above the water line for a long time now just haven't had the balls to do it! I drilled out below the water line above the prop on the lower unit fin but dont get the sound I want unless I am on Plain. I have an aluminum tuner but I want that sound why I am idiling! Nothing like the sound of screaming bridgeport want it to sound good idiling too. I was going to take a sawsall and drill but got scared. Anyone have any good hints before I start sawing and drilling? Oh yea I always think I can type better after a few beers!!!!

Thanks, that is what I was looking for! I don't think i am capable of doing everything skip did but man that looks cool. How big should I drill the holes in the back and how many. I am running a sweet 16 with a mod bridge and a cleaver so not worried about slippage. I want noise!!!!!!

martymar, not for nuthin, but you might want to re-consider drilling in th eback and keeping them on the bottom of the cav plate. On the bottom does not reduce the structural integrity like drilling in the back will. Additionally, the sound of the bridgeport at idle might not be as thrilling all the time as you moght think. it is also easier to make john-law happy when you are ideling with the holes on the bottom. It really is gonna be wicked loud, not just cool loud.
You could also look for a offshore exhaust; I think greynester had a couple. they are stronger and you can just trim a little to get that sound at idle.
just my overvalued $.02

I have a shortened 20" mid that is now a 15". I bought the mid from Euro Scott, he said it had a tuner in it, i haven't really looked at it closely yet.
I am puting fastalli's 280 cut 2.5 powerhead on it. It is a 225Promax powerhead with 280 cut, 260 crank, SVS intake, top pined pistons, and custom set fuel curve ECU all from Crown Leisure Marine.
I don't really know that much but i would like it to sound impressive and if i got a performance gain that would be awsome too.
So what would be the best exhaust option to go with?
thanks
Cody
