This is the best thread I have ever read!! I have been looking for some instruction on how to do this and this is perfect. I really like how you can plug the cut outs too!! But does cutting the fins affect anything?? And what if the holes are under water when you are sitting??<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>

Won't work on mine!
THe area that your cutting is real thick and is angled inside my midsection it's a 1984 150HP Mariner. So anybody with an older unit may not be able to perform this mod without extensive cutting.

Great thread
Yes, but you have to put the tuner back in once ur done.
I did this mod a couple days ago, but drilled 5 holes instead of the rectangles. Took me most of the day to pull the motor apart and do the mod, but it was my first time doing anything like this and it went really good!
Cant wait to hear her scream!

inline 6?
Subscribed...and it also appears that it could be done to an inline 6! I'll look into it but if some one else has better knowledge of doing it to an inline( pros and cons), I'd like to here about it. By the way, it will be done to my xr4. Thanks for the great tutorial!
