I have a Venom with a Merc 225 and have so far had her up to 75 with alot more to go. I am running a 28 trophy on a Torquemaster 1.75 LU with a hydraulic jack and have a 1.62 Sporty that will be soon installed - should give me a top speed of 87 with my completely stock 225XS. The Venom hull IMO is the best hull out there and is so easy to drive.

I dont see how you got that out of my post. Anyone that says they have a Venom on a site like this is sure to be understood that a Venom is a boat. A Venom is made by Hydrostream and again anyone on this site would know that. If anyone on this site would read a phrase like a "225 Merc" they would also know that an outboard motor was the subject.

I do not see how you got a "Venom Motor" out of my post - if you read my post you will see that there is no mention of a "Venom Motor".

    Are you high or drunk?

The first thing that will help is to post your actual model number. For added HP a set of 225 carbs will help and depending on year a set of intake manifolds, after that to get a noticable gain you will need to do some port work.

Remember, you must change the black carb bodies AND the throttle plates together. The carb body/throttle plate set are defined as one set of 225 carbs. You are best NOT to swap carb bodies/throttle plates between years either. '94 carb bodies on '96 throttle plates for instance will not work.

I have worked on two different V6s this year where someone assumed that the black carb bodies were the only thing needed to be changed. Results are very disappointing, and it is difficult to diagnose...until the fact is accidentally slipped that the throttle plates were not changed out.....then it all becomes clear.
