Im looking at buying a Verado for my ski boat what difffernce is there between 250 hp and 300 hp models lookig at the specs they seem to be virtually the same or does the 300 have more boost, i have had a ride in a boat with the 250 hp model and it really moved, it was quicker than my 300 xs on the same type of boat just trying to work if the 300 packaged would be faster again.

the only difference in the motors is the programming in the pcu. There is no difference in boost. As a matter of fact the only time the engines are really making boost is under acceleration. The boost falls off at wot.

Hey Obrien,

thanks for the info would internals like cams etc be the same i wouldnt have thought that you could get 50hp just by ecu change.
