Three Lakes, WI Shootout & Airport Fly-In / June 25 & 26!
Well gang, it is that time of year. The Shootout planning is in full swing & we're getting ready for a bigger & better event than ever! We achieved nearly 60 performance boats last year for our 2nd Annual Event. This year we hope to eclipse that record. We hope to see the regular faces & some new ones as well. We're hearing from more folks from Canada, so we're looking forward to more "international flair"!! All of this is a fundraiser for our local Fire Department trying to build a 2nd badly needed firehouse.
The registration forms will go up on the website next week. The schedule will remain pretty similar to last year with the static display at Bonnie's Lakeside Friday night @ 5 PM & racing begins Saturday morning around 10.
Questions? Please email me: info@ThreeLakesShootout.com
We hope to see you all in the Northwoods at the end of June. Remember it is the Saturday before the 4th of July.

I talked to Jim the other day and this event is going to be the best ever. Lots of additional boats coming in and the competition is expected to start to get really serious. The great part of this event is that you can run, run, and run again. So even if you don't post the best time, you still have the best time in your boat and the spectators are in awe.
I hope to bring up the two usuals and either a DR-20 or MAYBE the DR-X.
I did find out from Jim that the Northern Air Resort is already booked for the weekend. There are plenty of other hotels, motels and some rent cottages for the week and bring the family. Always somthing to do and plenty of stores around for the better halves and kids to spend your fuel money!
I am going to try and push a few of the Big Block Hydro guysfrom Blarney to come up and shake the lakes as well. Us OB guys still have as good a chance to keep up on a 800 to 900 foot course for King title.
I'm going to put a link to this post in general discussions. Might get a lot more attention. Maybe even more of my Canuck buddies will come because the dollar DEVALUATED!! Most have STV's and they are FFASST but a heck of a good bunch.
One last comment. If the weather forecast cooperates, we'll have more than a 100 boats throughout the classes. I like the fast Pontoons. I hear there are going to be more this year.
See you all soon;

Yes!!!!!
This is an insanely good time!
Anyone with something that powers itself across the water needs to come up and run thew the speed trap's!
Last year we had snowmobiles racing around!
Airplanes overhead while running down the speed course.

Three Lakes Shootout Participants
As you may have heard, the Northernaire is SOLD OUT for our weekend. Those that booked early are glad they did. Having said that, even though some will need to stay in Eagle River, 12 miles north or Hiles, 10 miles south, I want to remind you that one of the important benefits of the Shootout is our commitment to put your boat locked indoors at Anchor Marine at the race site at NO CHARGE overnight so you don't have to tow it, deal with it & are free to drive to your lodging (& party!) knowing your boat is secure. We do ask for reservations in advance for planning purposes by emailing Paul at Anchor2005@verizon.net or by calling him at 715-546-8333.
I am confirming discounts at the various local motels, so check www.ThreeLakesShootout.com for more lodging info & the schedule which will be up by the weekend. Thanks!
