    Sea star steering question

Just bought a motor with the wide flat steering tube with the two holes in front. Does it matter what connection is used when I hook up the ram? I have a ram with the one bolt on top hookup. I also have another parts ram with the piece that bolts to the wide arm but not sure if I can switch it over. First time with hydraulic steering. Any help would be great.

Steering tube=steering tiller arm? You need to get a copy of the instructions, or check the seastar application guides for the proper system for your motor. Use the arp bolt that they sell for xtra strength at the steering arm. The hole you use is on top. Not the ones on front. Sounds like a merc... Most use the 5345 cylinder normally...

Xstreamvking, meant to say steering tiller arm and yes it is a 150 Merc XR4. I have a HC5345 front mount ram and a 2.0 HH5770 Pro Helm with 1000 PSI hoses. I have the bleeding instructions but would like to see how it bolts up.

Try google with sea star steering. Should send you to the rite place... Grease it good when installing it... And dont hit the shaft with a wrench, it will cause the seals to leak...
