Great motor will run forever. Just twice as many parts as 2 cycle will require twice the maintance. Sounds like the filter on the high pressure pump needs cleaning. Install 10 micorn water seperator, will cut down on fuel system maintance. Have belt and water pump changed before running for season. Thanks Martin

The high oil level could be that it was over filled or that the rings were not seated properly, worn out, or leaking valve seals. Yamaha recommends filling it with oil to the middle of the hash marks o. The dip stick. The 115 had bad injector problems when I worked for a yamaha dealer(two or three bad injectors a month) get the injectors cleaned or replaced and you must have a 10 micron fuel filter or the injectors will continue to fail

High oil level can also be caused from running rich (possible injector issue or VST flooding) or running cold (stuck T-stat). A leakdown test can also show if rings are an issue many times a good decarb treatment can resolve high leakdown problems.

F-115 is a great motor. I've got a couple of friends that run them on their sled style fishing boats. I've heard they do make oil and not to worry too much as long as the oil is checked and changed regularly. Read that as often. Remember it's a boat not a car and is under a lot more stress than a car engine.

I have a 18 Nissan and it makes oil. It has from day one. I just watch the oil and when it starts to take on that brownish color I change it. Depending on use, that can be 3 or 4 times a season. The motor is 12 years old and has never been in the shop for anything.

If you notice that strange vibration at about 800 rpm, that's normal. If it bothers you then switch to a 4 blade and it almost completely disappears.

There are several reasons and many many complaints of 115's making oil. Some of which have been indicated too you already. This is a across the board issue with Yamaha, Honda, and Suzuki of which I sell. All manufactures know of the issue and are addressing as we speak. Thanks Martin

From my experience a heavy 4 blade prop will cause this issue on this engine and a F!50, the lighter the prop the less noise and vibration.
