Old style trim pump
Hookin up an old style trim system on my 1975 merc 850. What is a good fluid for the pump? Also the lines are off the system..what is a good way to fill and purge the air? Thanks

Oil
Most any oil will work out. I use a synthetic 10/30 motor oil and it has worked great.
Purging the air is just a matter of cycling the motor up and down a few times and the air will purge itself back into the top of the resevoir.
