    1997 Mariner 175 or 1996 200 Merc EFI?

Wanted to know which of these engines (if both in the same condition) would be the best? I lean more toward the 200 EFI. Thoughts?
    Thanks in advance!

In our testing, the 200EFI has been very impressive, and would make you think it's more than 25hp stronger that's for sure.

Personally I prefer the grey paint............ but more horsepower is almost always better and EFI is definitely superior! (until it's time to buy new parts! $$$)

    Boats and Use

It depends what you plan to do with the motor and what kind of boat you have if you have a boat that you want to try to make a go fast boat with i would go with the 200efi if you have a heavy style fishing boat that needs alot of torque and good running motor i would go with the 175 esp if they are both efi motors the 175 has a longer tuner in it and they have better lowend power than the 200 but will not have the topend as the 200 but for all around use on a fishing boat i would go with the 175 and they are better on fuel also if you have a speed boat go with the 200. Looking to repower my 19' JCraft. She's a bit heavy, flat bottom but corners like a Porsche! Been sitting far too long and now have some cash to get her in the water. Both are EFI's. Love speed but also looking for the low end to blow all my "inboard" friends out of the water! I am a water skier, and can ski behind a Mastercraft, so this is mainly for fun.
