core
unless he wants the boat this summer, and doesn't mind spending a chunk, tell him to do it himself in sections, take pics and ask questions on here. their is enough helpers in the arena to make it a good experience for him, unless maybe he just doesn't want to itch like crazy every weekend.

do your self a little favor, and have them leave some ventilation holes under the bow and add a couple others under the splash well area. the best thing to keep a bilge dry, is to let it get wet easily, because it then dries easily.

I had jack lugus (sp?), the nida core man himself, send me a sample of the stuff, and i do know that the benchmark of engineering is not determined by a pair of plyers, but squeezed the stuff with a pair of plyers and the stuff crushed pretty easily. I then applied the same plyers to a standard density balsa, and it only suffered facial texturing from the plyers. I'll stick with balsa. Skater still uses balsa, too.
