Merc 150 XS?
Noticed while looking on the merc website that they released the new 150 xs. Anyone run one yet, any info on them? Thanks, would rather go merc then etec (my opinion!)

150xs info
I've been looking at this engine for new boat, have gotten the following from article online(FishingWorld.com)
Carbon Fiber Reeds
175 proxs heads
175 proxs fuel system recalibrated for efficiency and carb 3 star
Unique exhaust tuner for inc torque no top end power loss
It appears that the info was released by
Steve Fleming at Mercury
The info also matches some sales literature that a Merc Dealer had on the motor

150xs info
I came across the 150 xs info when I was researching a motor for my new project
The 150xs caught my attention on the merc website I wondered what the differences to the 175xs were ?
According to the Coast Guard plate /manufacturer plate I have the availiability to use up to 175hp on the boat
Evinrude HO with the more hydrodynamic gearcase was a strong argument but since there was no 175HO I nixed it
So was Yamahas reputation for reliability (I've owned both 2stroke and 4stroke wave runners) however the 175vmax was a bit extreme in the looks dept
I will probably use the 175 proxs due to the combination of hp,looks, and current/prior experience with Mercury (all my opinion)
Thanks again for the advice
