Transom Knee Placement
I've been thinking about this for awhile and would like some opinions from others. Would it be alright to have the transom knees spaced out to each side of the transom instead of connected to the stringers? I would like to have a aluminum tank and be able for it to be under the splash well/deck. I will be decking the transom well also.
Here's what I don't want to do, Would it be ok to space them to the edge of the transom and then bond them to the floor? Would it be strong enough? Thanks

It would be great if you could make them a little taller even.
The more the better in my opinion..
If you plan on decking off the splash well, you could also tie the knees into that. Thing will be solid.
If you decide to bond them to the floor, It might be wise to bond a small pad to the top of the floor. Maybe like 3"x whatever your knee is. this will help spread the load out a little bit. Should do the trick. Feel bad for the next guy who does the re-core..
