    Found a 73 Marlin

I found a 73 Marlin jet boat down the street from my house. It looks to be in decent shape, with a Hardin marine 455 olds and a Berkely jet drive. He said the motor is knocking b ut everything else is fine. Its been sitting for about a year. He only wants 1000 for it and I think it would be a good deal. Do you guys think it is a good deal. I can rebuild the motor myself. I dont know how to tell what model the drive is. I looked it over pretty good. Didnt see any cracks in the hull. Iwas thinking if I get it I`m going to do some re-wiring while I re-build the motor. The interior is not bad, just needs some cleaning up.

Go to your local library and load them up on their computer. Would love to see some pics!!! Do you know what model it is (ie. Gemini, Taurus, Leo, Scorpion)? My dad built Marlin's from late 1972 to 1974 in the Harlan, IN plant. Here is our '73 Marlin (Gemini which was the 16') with the 85hp Merc, then went to a 115, then to a 150 Black Max, then the divorce (with my parents). What color is she?

    Talking

I am currently redoing a 1971 Marlin that I got a few months back. Here is a couple of pictures. I got it after it sat in a driveway for 5 years without a cover...u can only imagine what that looked like. I have redone all the gauges and some wireing, all new sending units and a forward and reverse cable. I am currently finishing up a complete rebuild on my olds 350. I am running a Berk JC pump. I am also planning on when it gets warm on repainting the pump! Just can't wait until it gets warm. I am hopin within a couple years to get the boat repainted and a new interior. Whats it matter what it looks like when it runs like a top....nobody can tell what it looks like when going 50 across the lake!!!

Very Coool!!! You gonna run the Salamonie when she's ready or where do you play at? I like the wheels on the trailer, looks like they're off a '66 Chevelle SS.
