Rotax power
Anybody ever use the 4stroke blown Rotax with a propeller/not a jet?
Thinking of a lightweight ski boat, direct drive or V drive.Seems like great power to weight ratio.Started out around using 4Cyl Yanmar turbo diesel but weight(500lb) and price($16,000),low rpm got me thinkin about the Rotax.

If you're going to all that trouble, why not go with a Military Surplus Gas Turbine. They come in at around 150 lbs and are rated at 150hp stock. They can typically be found in Field Generator sets and are relatively inexpensive. There's already been some experiments done with them as outboard conversions on Merc lowers. They seem to do quite well. You can do a internet search to find them.
