I know this is an older thread, but it is today for me. Steve, I bought the gps antenna referred to and pictured above. My Livorsi gps gauge Is a used one I bought on here, so I'm not at all familiar with the original install. I have read that the smaller plug on the back of the gauge is the gps antenna feed. There are three wires coming. Out of the plug itself, being red or and and black. Then, when I look into then other end of the white cable, the cable being a few feet long, I see four wires wrapped in tin foil that actually has what seems like small silver wires wrapped around the outside of the tin foil, then the white plastic exterior. Anyway, then there's what I think is the big recall plug, and I thunk I read somewhere that the red wire on that is actually the DC power input to the gauge. So, knowing all this, how do I wire this thing, if I don't plan on using a recall switch. Stupid question, but do I run pos and neg wires from the battery up to and connect to the red and black wires wire on the gauge, with maybe a fuse in there as well? Then how to connect the antenna?? Thanks Steve or anyone else!

Red from antenna and red from gauge to Ignition power. Neg (black) from gauge, Black and orange from antenna to ground. Gray from antenna (GPS pickup) to your gauge GPS pickup (orange??) Couldnt read I think you made a typo. Dont worry about the bare shielded wire. that should do it.

Thanks Steve. So, here's the complete wiring rookie in me - when you say red to ignition power - do you mean connect the reds directly to the red prong on the ignition switch? Any when you say "to ground", do you mena the black prong also on the ignition switch itself? Or, am I going to the battery? Sorry, clueless.

You can get your power from any of your other gauges as long as you only have power with the key on. You can also use ground from any of your other gauges. Hope this helps.

If your boat is wired correctly, not a given, a purple wire should be feeding your gauges. You can tap in to that for power. Same with the black like Steve says.

My Livorsi GPS battery went dead in the Donzi a lil while back. Just found these on on ebay and ordered one. Hope It works. Mine has the square plug in the back of the guage. Figured I would share being they had a couple of them left @ $89.95 shipped.

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/GARMIN-GPS17...item3a7baa150d

On another Livorsi note.......Been trying for a while now to get some powdercoated cupholders that match my guages and other small items ordered to finish up my Reaction, called several times and left voicemails.. No response or call back. Seems nobody in sales even answers the phone these days. What the hell is up with these people?

I wanted to ressurect this thread because I am going to be tackling the dead sensor issue in my boat pretty soon here in anticipation of the upcoming season.

The link at the beginning of the thread shows the part as NLA so I just wanted to know what my options were.

I know this is kind of old but it seems to be the place to go for info on GPS speedometers and antennas.
Does anyone know if either of these will work? They look the same as the originals on this thread.
