magnum missile questions
So i was giving a magnum missile with a blown 200 merc. The last person to have this boat running i am unable to get ahold of. the shaft on it i am told was custom built and is 15" i am told well due to not being able to find a short shaft engine and not having enough balls to run it with a 200. i have found a 150 20" and was going to purchase a hyralic transom jack. now my question is will a transom jack have any down falls. and if there is anyone who ownes one of these boats that i could just find out more about them due to not much info online

magnum missle
I have a MAGNUM with a 20" transom ( custom built ) and ran a 2.5 200+ offshore motor on it, I ran a 4-blade 26p prop at 6600 at mid 80's, boat handled great and an impressive ride, but be very careful these boats can be unpredictable, any way I took the motor off and put a 150 MERC xr-4 on it now, same set-up just less power...frist time out it ran 65mph @5000 rpm, too big of prop and carbs were surging, am ready to try again with a 24p cleaver, i'll keep you posted...

Magnum Missle with a V-Drive!!
Back in 1970 when 17years old, I bought an old Magnum from my buddy Reggie Fountain.I worked very hard on it and converted it to a V-drive with a 428 Cobra Jet motor. Got only 90mph. It was a cool lookin rig. Not all I had hoped for, but a neat project!! David

I don't think so. Ask Parker Rabe if he ever skied behind a Rabco Hustler

I don't know why wakeboarding would roll it, but I feel that they are VERY DANGEROUS at any speed over low 70's, so that includes most any V6 you want to put on one. I had a friend killed in one with an inline 150 in the '70's. His two first cousins had a pair of 'em also, one with a Twister1 and the other with a short inline 150. They are VERY prone to blowover and THE LAST THING they need is setback from a jackplate. Magnum 2.5 has run his fast and gotten by with it. Others haven't been so lucky and for every one that's been run over 80 right side up there've many more that have tried it and ended upside down.
