im setting the boat up on the floor, leveling it up, i have 2x6 horizontal setting in the notch on the transom supporting the stern and supporting the bow near the eye with a notched 4x4 on end. both these pieces have legs to keep them upright, and allow me to shim them one way or the other to get them level right? so the notch in the transom is level. but all the way forward were the bow light goes-i but a level on top, and its off-maybe as much as a bubble. so whats up?

Man i am in no way a boat builder so i could be wrong in my way of thinking. i recently leveled my vector up for replacement of internal parts with the thought of the running surface being most important. I already had support beams running along the strakes that the floor rests on and supports at bow and outside edges at stearn. I also have it elevated off the floor .

sorry. not used to posting much .
I started at the rear of the pad thinking everything should be trued up from this point. i shimmed my supports to trueing up, then shimmed front of rails leveling rails rail to rail . then i went to the bow and lifted it to the point where the strakes began to lift off rails with shims. then i added support rails under the pad to true. My vector has the wedge on the pad so i scribbed a 2x4 and cut to match bottom. actually 2 2x4s . I leveled these rails across also at forward part of rails. I didn't realy think leveling the cap would give me a true bottom and did it this way. I also shimmed my two outside supports just to sturdy the boat. just out of curousity i checked the topside for trueness and surpizingly the whole cap was true bow to stearn along with the notch behind pad.

Thanks man
being a production boat i realy didn't think the deck cap would be true to the hull is why i did it this way but was surprised as to the results.
I would recomend using different size levels . I used from a torpedo up to 6 foot. A board with a torpedo could give you false readings.
Good luck and get er done!!!
