On coosa boards life span.... Will be around longer than you.. and that's forever to me. Me lying? I have been called worse than that.. No big deal.. I haven't built a boat in 25 years that had any wood in it... Must be some reason for that. And that the boats have NO rot or failures has proven the integrity of the coosa type matl.. Life time warr. on boats did not show up till coosa type matl. was discovered...Think this means anything?

Hey man, I apologize if I offended you. That was a generalized statement on the word FOREVER . I was not downing coosa or any other composite material. I am a strong believer in composites including coosa. I am using composites in the restoration of my vector. Coosa is one of them. I also believe that if i chose wood materials in my rebuild, when properly installed will be here alot longer than i will be.

I agree about the knowege that can be gained here. I read and re read all the information given by you guys and am thankful to have it.

After being told by employers that i will have a job FOREVER and by girlfriends and wifes that they will be FOREVER, i don't like the word.

No apology needed. It's just someones opinion after all. That's why we are on here. Build your boat the way that you think will work best. All the info I have given that's on here is to be used as reference only, It is def. not the only way there is to do the job.. Have fun with it. And yea, forever ain't always forever...

    forever

can be translated to mean that the core materials that act as the web separating the flanges (skins) will outlast the life cycle of the flanges (frp skins).

artie, i was just comparing properties today, and man, i am back on the balsa wagon. like an old girlfriend you keep bumping into, the stuff is just incredible. i am fully convinced now, that on my 13 allison, i will use light weight balsa on transom, core and stringers, with biaxial carbon and pro set epoxy. i will probably vacuum bag, also. just comparing the numbers, balsa is awesome.

Ronny , like i said in my last post the person i talked with today stated that they design epoxy for the aero space industry and others and have resin's for the Marine industry and hardners to fill any need as far as pot life goes that needs no self induced cure time. Ronny i will give you a buzz tomorrow .
