    Aero-tek boats

    Good day,
I would like to know is their any one that know's about the 1988 aero-tek hull. Was it a good ruff water hull, was it a fast hull, is it a all around good boat. Any history on this boat would help. Thanks for any help that can be given.

We used to sell Aero-Teks at my job years ago , They are light and fast, but they can break if you beat the hell out of them, The 28 footer would go 80+ with a single Mercruiser HP.

I may be wrong but isn't Aero-Tek the name associated with a Hot Boat Magazine story from the 90'S where the guy who was building boats under that name misplaced 2 very expensive high performance Mercruser engines that a customer had sent him for a boat the customer had ordered?

I think the customers engines appeared at a boat show in someone elses boat.

Yes, they were built in Michigan & were popped from a 27' Magnum hull. They were served a cease & desist order from Magnum Marine's lawyers. But this was in the 70's, early 80's. Might be a different Aero-Marine.

Aero-Tech built offshore performance boats. They were 24 degree deadrise deep V hulls with no steps. Topdeck and hull were capped...boats were built pretty strong but lots of ply wood. Aero Tech went belly up and had all kinds of finanical problems..many people were screwed in the end; lost their deposit monies, etc..

Correct Steve. They were in Sarasota, Florida area. But there was also an "Aero Marine"(also called Lancer Marine) 27 popped from a 27 Magnum, in Michigan, back in the late seventies. And in the 80's...there was also a different & not related AeroTek, coincidentaly also in Michigan, that went belly-up...that were actually a bit innovative in design, and performed well.

air entrapment? I remember looking at a couple of them that I think were in the 22' - 24' range. Single I/O boats and very fast for the power/era.
Very unique bottom as I recall.
I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.

I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.
