Right Props for 30'Skater w/ 300xs
In the process of rigging a 30' skater with 300xs. I've read a few articles comparing 3 and 4 blade props, both end up with a top end of right around 103. The 4 blades supposedly take a little pressure off the lower unit but also lighten the back of the boat a bit. Its set up for everyday use so it needs to be an all around good performer. Anyone have some insight into which props, size, are the best for this boat?

If you want an all round good performer try Bravo 1s ,They wont quite have the top end of the 3 or 4 blade cleavers .I preferred the 4 Blade cleavers over the 3 Blades but alway had a set of B1s in the shed .32s should be about right without seeing your set up

A good all rounder , 5 people ,coolers ,etc ? You wont get near 100pmh .The reality of social Skatering is 85-90 Mph Blats and a good cruise speed , or maybe im getting old ..

There's a guy on both here and OSO that goes by appsyscons and has a new 30' here in FL. From what I've read he's tried every prop known to man on his boat.

On my 30 motion with 300pms Fastest were 15x34 three blade 14-3/4'' x34 4 blades from bblades ran well and were 2 mph slower better overall and easier or the lowers Rotation made a huge difference Toped out at 110.4mph

Only 103 mph with 300XS? Seems slow to me for a 30 Skater with that power. Warlock Dave has a 28 Skater with 300x motors that run 115. He uses 34 x 15 Mercury Lab three blades. A 30 Motion with only twin 300 promax runs 101 running Mercury Lab 34 x 15 four blade. The 300Xs is a lot more engine than a promax. Call Herring Props and check out the five blades the racers are running. Bravo Ones have no place on a cat outboard engine. Not a surfacing prop. Use Mercury four blade cleavers 34 X 15 or the Herring five blades.

There is a big difference in size between the 28 and 30 skater. There arent a ton of articles on the 30, but the one powerboat mag did it ran in the same 101-103 range. I dont think there is a ton you can do to this setup to get much more speed out of it?
