Bumping this back up, I haven't ignored the suggestions at all, but I do have the 27P shooter sitting. Any advice on where to start with the prop shaft on this? I assume this prop probably doesn't like to surface so I was going to start around 3" below the bad for the center line on the prop shaft. Thoughts or suggestions on this?
Thanks

I ran a Raker on my Vector when I ran an OMC. It's a great all around prop.

I'm not ignoring the suggestions at all, but I HAVE the Shooter already, and was curious about set up to get me going this spring. I don't want to have it grab too much air and not plane out etc.... A rough idea on where to put it is what I'm going after at the moment.
Again, thanks a ton for all the input.

Dustin it sounds like your really looking for a good all around prop that will keep the boat handling civilly. I would look for a 26 or 27 Trophy Plus. It will bolt right up to your Rude and run very well. You can find them all over the net on the bass sites for $300. Best part is they hold their value if you want to sell it. It will certainly outperform you shooter by a long way. Best part is the PVS holes allow you to adjust venting for holeshot.

3" below should be a good start. Vectors don't like the engine deep at higher speed, so work up slowly to speed, and feel it out. If the prop will stand it, raise it higher if you can.
I always tell everyone to try any prop you can, even if it's "wrong", don't get too wound up over what you "gotta" have. Seen a number of people get pretty impressive results with all the "wrong" stuff.Living in the Freedom provided by Bud Conner and his fellow warriors.

Chopper II was the best cruising, load carrying all around prop for my vking and action end of story. Oh and it still went 97 before its bow lift would start pushing the action towards blow over mode even with 100% negative trim. I would get a 28 or 30, the looper's got enough grunt to hop up. My stock looper had no problem gettin on plane with the 30 and 4 people in the boat

Thanks fellas. The looper isn't 100% stock, but fairly close, should prove fun.
Thanks again

I've got a 27p Yamaha performance XL that would work well.

Wow didn't see some of these. I was just searching the thread up for some lookings to buy another prop.
frederick55 - It's a Vector, I guess picks can be deceiving.
roadkill - it's a stock motor for all reasoning purposes.
matty - what R's are you spinning? Does that just kill it getting out of the hole?
rdk - Do those Yammy props work on OMC splines etc???-Dustin
