    *Sigh* I'm going to ask.....

I hate to ask as I'd rather buy several props, but lets be realistic. That can get spendy, I don't have friends with boats as light and powered like mine is going to be, so borrowing props isn't available.

I'm working with a full interior Vector and a rebuilt 200 V6 Johnson that won't be much more HP than stock right now. Pleasure boat first, race second. I have a ROUGH 27p 4 blade shooter. If I were to buy a good all around prop what would you suggest?

I see lots of suggestions for choppers, but those are good for bow lift, and I wouldn't think I'd want any more than this boat is going to have with the big V6 out back. I don't want a Cleaver as I'll have medium load on most of the time, and top speed runs will be minimal I'm sure.

Sorry for asking the question, I just don't have the cash/resources to do my own research.

    Thanks

    Dustin

I would start with a 27 srx. Someone was just selling one worked by DAH.

You are about 5 hrs from me. This spring you could tow over and try several props. I loved the chopper on my Streams.

You don't think the Choppers would have too much bow lift and want to blow over with a heavy V6 out back? SRX's are similar to Choppers as they lift the bow correct?

QH you will want more than one prop. They hold their value so don't worry about getting rid of one if it doesn't work for you.

Riverman - Thanks, I just didn't want to buy one that sat on a shelf and loose too much coin.

Laker - As soon as the boat is done and the weather turns you bet your last dollar I'll be up there when I know where one is at!

If I had your boat and could buy only one prop it would be a 27 SRX built by DAH for a Stream. They are easily bought here in S&F for under $400. It will carry a load accelerate well. You can even pull the kids on a tube with it. A 27 Trophy would be my second choice and a stock chopper third. The Trophy is an awesome all around prop.

Thanks Wizard, it seems the SRX is the one that keeps coming up in each post. I'll do some searching for one.

I did forget to mention I have a 6" jackplate on the boat as well, not sure if it makes a difference in the suggestions, I just forgot to mention that.

A big ear chopper with an offshore cut works well.
