gmc 2500 hd blows air bag fuse
my 04 gmc 2500 hd dmax blows the airbag fuse(replaced it twice) any ideas where to look for the problem?
action mobile marine, 772 528 0754, dealers for aces fuel products,wolf efi, pro marine,latham and gaffrig/livorsi. we build gearcases and modify them(3 litre) to ratchet, and powerheads as well. 21 skater/3 litre wolf efi 113 mph the engine build http://www.screamandfly.com/showthre...-3-litre-build

Look for a "mobile" air bag repair company to come out and take care of it for you. The one in our area is pretty sharp and that's all they do every day.
Short of obvious pinched wires I would not tackle that by yourself.....If an oops happens the very least could be thousands of dollars....

You can look up around the park brake area towards the bulkhead. Not sure if there are SIR wires there but it is a known shorting area.

it sounds like you have a module gone bad ... generally air bag wires dont short out. they take damn good precautions to make sure the bags dont go off in grandmothers face. but if you stop and think about what causes a fuse to blow it might point you in a better direction. fusees blow due to high current (excessive amperage) the only way to increase the current flow across a fuse is to lower the circuit resistance. knowing that a bad ground cant be the cause. the only wires that would cause a fuse to blow would be power wires. or a burnt module to try to tell you where to look would be impossible

driver side kick panel,behind it is a pink or orange or yellow airbag style connector...unplug it and fill it with dielectric grase and reconnect..i had a similar problem,,this seemed to fix it...good luck

i looked at the wiring around the ebrake, looks fine, no chafing, i'm starting to think its a bad module
