    Chrome Cylinders on 85 Mariner 150? HELP?

    Would a 85 Mariner 150 have chrome cylinders? Can you bore or hone chrome cylinders with out rechroming them?

    How would I know that? Im not really boat motor intelligent lol. Are some 85s chrome and other not?

    If the tear is correct,the motor will be steel bore,3.125 bore

    yeah its iron sleeves bore it rebuild it run the crap out of it,years later do it again.

    Should be a 2.0L cast iron bore. Look at the heads. Towards the top there is a place that will say 3 1/8 or 3 3/8. Should show 1/8. Unless it is a frankenstien and is a 2.4L with 2.0L heads that has been thrown together. . Those are almost bullet proof engines as they come. One of my favorite. I have modified and built many of them.

    The only ones I have seen are the XR4's and they are steel. I have personally have never seen one.
