Also I understand that tint sometimes screws up the rear defroster, an essential accessory here.

Boz, whadda ya mean by that?

yep. I've thought about blacking out all the polished and chrome stuff on my truck, but I just can't bring myself to shoot over some of it when I don't know how the base will react.

It's just been my personal experience where my vehicles that had tinted windows, had the windows broken and stuff stolen. My vehicles that didn't have tint were never touched. Stands today.
Could be coincidence but it's been my experience.

Nice wheels though Jeff; that's a pretty cool ride. I'd leave the windows clear. Looks good the way it is.

The tint would complete the blackout operation. Bite me, Jim. I don't even have to disagree with you to bring out your true colors.

I would probably tint it too if I lived in Florida, but only teenage punks and n*****s tint their windows here, and they get their stuff broken into all the time.

I guess every factory that produces SUVs must be ******s, because all of them are tinted.

I'm talking about the limo black, the kind where you can't even see their teeth while they're driving.

In Michigan, you can't legally tint the front side windows, but some people do it anyway, they just tell the cop the punk or ****** who owned it before them did it, or they tell them it was a Florida car. Here, you can get away with a 3" sun-shade tint overlay along the top without getting in trouble. The punk kids like to put "tint drips" and stuff on the front sides, it goes along nicely with the bent-up radio antennas and stuff...

ok, I'll admit, I laughed at this. Point for pyro. lol.

I've had one with 3M 5% tint, it wasn't my DD and didn't come out of the garage unless it was nice out. All my others were Llumar 20% which is the best match to factory tint that I can get around here.

Legal (in FL) is 28% fronts and 15% in the rear, nothing on the windshield below the as line (if its visible, its illegal. Usually people put 90% UV guard on it so the sun doesnt destroy the dash). If cops tried to enforce that down here they would be doing nothing but writing tint tickets, which aren't moving violations, btw.

I've never had any issues with the defroster not working but it is a pain to get the tint to lay flat over the heating elements.

I bought an old truck with tint once, it did come from down south too. It drove me nuts - I couldn't get it off fast enough.

That thing looks sweet Riverman, Johnny Cash would be proud. now ya gotta spray the boat to match it. The powder coating of the wheels would be cool too.
