to but i still have a hard time beliving theres that much side forse going straight lol
anyways moving as many boats as i have with a froklift like we do if you hit it just right they will and i have seen them pop right off with what looked to be just a tap
i hope it never happens to me or anyone else but i have a lot of faith in the metal urgey engineer that everything stay together

only at speed and on the surface but i cant tell you how many skegless boats i have seen runnin for years in the keys now we are not talking over 70 mph

Skaters like their lowers REAL HIGH
Alot more forces on that skeg joint when it is up there, the worst is a single 21' Skater22' Activator w/ 250xs Merc Opti, back home again

kevin, I broke the swept skeg on my sporty but it ran WAY better than my straight skeg. I havent been able to hurt the straight one yet but Im not very hard on things I would have already cut it if I wasnt worried about breaking another one though.

i run a sporty that was a striaght skeg. i notched it, and rolled it over, blunted the nose. i reshapped the skeg some. one of the best handleing cases on my allison. the pic in my signature i'm running that case. it has been 110 mph.

I have always had better results with a swept back type skeg with a Bob's torque tamer that I welded in myself...
