No rpm difference, and no performance gain. Sell the SS and add Horsepower to the engine with the cash, you will be happier. With a properly setup and loaded pump you can run 800+ HP all day with no problems with the aluminum. If the pump isn't correct, the SS impeller is just a bandaid, and the pump is still inefficient, fuel economy and top speed will still be lower. The peeps that usually recomend the SS impeller are normally the shops that have one in stock. TIMINATOR

Personally i think i would stay within the recommended power, have seen the results of too much power on aluminum impeller. I would rather spend the money than possible sink my boat. Just sayin.<input id="gwProxy" type="hidden"><!--Session data--><input onclick="jsCall();" id="jsProxy" type="hidden">

Run the stainless impeller, it will last a whole lot better if eating an occasional rock, the aluminum impellers will wear away after time, need sharpened back up. I know couple shops that have taken out SS impellers and replaced them with aluminum impellers, unbeknownst to the owners, till the impeller fails.

i agree sleekcrafter, i know the ss is a hell of alot stronger, and will take a bit of abuse , but does the weight of the ss change much from the alum.? rpm, fuel consumtion, e.t.c ? and ya, fearless when i bolt on the blower!! lol,!

You will basically see no difference. The stainless will just be more durable.

the ss impellor will be about 10lbs heavier than the aluminum, agree with duane and sleekcrafter that you will see little if any difference in the fuel mileage and or rpm, there is less difference in the weight of a ss impellor vs the al as there is in a flywheel vs a flex plate, have done this for decades and all kind of testing and have never seen a noticable measureable difference in the mileage of the two. the rotational weight is so close to the center line that it will make very little difference. the mfg did not use them as oem simply for economics. if i had one i would keep it and use it, very strong and very durable especially in silt or gravel water.

thanxs for the info BIGA, i was thinkin the same,, im pretty much lookin for reliability, the places we go with the boat is way outta the way, so we need her to run great, and gettin a ss for free is a bonus also,, thanxs again, mike
