    Hornet sprint

What is the history of hornets? There is a hornet sprint just up the road from me and never heard of them.

Hornet boats was owned by Marty Hatchel. He was a rigger back in the day with my dad in the 60s at Tahiti. He branched out on his owned, splashing the 16 Tahiti, and also tooling up his own boats. His original 19 footer with the built in gauge bezels was splashed by a lot of builders. I caught up with him when I was rigging at Howard in the 90's. He was rigging a little there on the side and I heard through the grapevine that he passed away not long after that. He built a good boat and loved the AMC/panther jet combo, but I've seen many of his boats running berks. He told me he'd go to the local AMC dealer and buy nameplates for his boats.

Or you could just call Cheetah. They're still in biz in Az and the original owner, Bob Burns, just retired. Maybe there's a shot that some old emblems are on the shelf somewhere.
