Had a dyno pull on the motor this week
Brought the boat up to Fuller's this week. I've been having a problem with the port side motor not getting full power. It turns out it is the injectors. The motor is getting flooded from three of them. Fuller's is sending both sets of injectors to Brucato for cleaning and servicing.
Had them run the dyno on my starboard motor and I'm pretty happy with the results. The motor is a stock 225X and it pulled 245 hp.
I'm swapping my lowers to spin my props inward and had Fuller set the toe in by 1/16". I had been told by someone who races for a living to to that and the boat would run faster. George concurred.
One of my lower units is leaking so I'm having both resealed with the Mad EFI seal kit.
Hopefully when I get everything back together, the port motor will pull the same kind of numbers. I'm looking forward to running the boat and see how much the handling will change with the inward prop rotation.
Next step will be to get rid of the boat anchor Bravo's I's I'm running and try some real props.
Has anyone run a chopper with an "offshore cut?" I've heard it is supposed to be one heck of a prop for surfacing applications.Last edited by Powerplay25; 10-03-2009 at 10:42 AM.

Funny how Merc is high on the + side of 10% + - of rated HP most of the time. Always nice to have 9% more that it says.

Is there anywhere where I can view stock engine dyno reults. I was into performance bikes and raced for years and dyno info is easily available. The manufacturers publish data and so many owners use dynos to tune that its easy to find data. It seems to be a big secret with outbaord engines. I would love to see graphs of comparable engines and be abale to overlay them.
Be careful when you look at those dyno results. My experience is that dynos are great for comparing before and after modifications to the same engine but the big number can easily be effected by the correction factors used by the operator. Make sure you are comparing apples to apples. I am not saying that a particular shop is padding their numbers (although I am sure it happens somewhere) but there isnt a lot of consistency from one dyno to another.13' Biel tunnel AKA "Flight Risk"

Steve,
I didn't forget about you. I plan on getting a pair of stock 28" Chopper II's and seeing how they run. Than I'll go from there.
Haven't got the boat back yet. Waiting on the injectors.David
