Here comes the patent paper finally.

Posting it as a pdf doesn´t seem to be possible, so this is from my scanner.

As my printer is out of business for the moment, these scans are of my somewhat dated printouts, with my yellow markings on them. Hope you find them readable anyway.

First try with Tinypics on my part. According to the Preview function it seems to work!!!

Here are some pics of engine parts with relevance to the patent paper.

Namely the piston top with the deflector, the main transfer ports from outside and inside and one transfer port cower with its splitters/dividers (for two cylinders).

On the intake cover that can be seen on one pic installed on the block, "somebody" has slimmed/sharpened the leading edges, believing this would be a good thing and that the flatnosed factory design is there only for reasons of manufacture/casting feasibility. But who knows?

Also, some surfaces pictured have been grit blasted. Therefore the otherwise clearly visible traces of the end mill machining from outside of the main transfer (inlet) ports, is no longer visible (although size and shape of ports are original).

    I kinda

Think they left out the 2 Exhaust booster ports.... good thing. Too much mixymassing. The piston dome is too high.... good for Sunco 260 but todays gass not. Cuter down. Would be neat to optimazz the old L6 and see what or how.

    HeeHee

I see on your Block that someone did a bit more........I do that and then some. It seems that the paterns cover many different styles so nobody could tweek and steal. I wonder if they tested other styles or just that one. The middle booster port wound up in the t2x and in lesser form the 150. I played with them before V6s were in my Reach$$$$$$ I got some layying in the yard and will put some together just to see what works and don't. Thats if things stay slow and I have time to play.

I suspect they were thermally borderline already back in the day with the thin and high deflector and with the compression ratio chosen.

I agree that some of those variants in the paper were probably there mostly to keep the competition away, which is common practice I think.

Here is a paper about transfer ports as in the T2/T2X and 650XS/700X etc. (My yellow markings again. Fresh paper to be had from freepatentsonline.com.)

    To Mk75H:

Any inside and first hand info on the Direct Charge-system that might be out there, within this board or elsewhere, would of course be totally amazing to souls like me, and perhaps/hopefully to some others. Who is he?

And to Dave S and baldad45:

I will be back hopefully tomorrow (Friday) with some pics etc. with relevance to picture/figure 6.

    I kinda

Would think finngers where the dome is to block air. Then the Dome is not as long.....at TDC it would give the hot air that burns the top of dome a nuuda way to the exhaust side. Maybe less piston burnnny. They didn't want to go full looper for crank longness, cept it tight and lost the positive effects off a looper. A compromise. That has and earned a reputation for Frying pistons. I remember the first time I saw a new DC motor apart....... I thought it was the best thing anyone could have built. When I first pulled down a V6 I didn't think that anyone could Port or improve on it. Was I wrong......still am.

    Fig. 5

Has anyone applied the concepts put forward in fig. 5 ? Appears to be a simple modification , also did they use pistons with the ring endgap pins in a different position to avoid the fingerports ? If so where do these pins move too ?Glen
