    32 skater

Hey guys this is the old Don Q Rum and when i worked at Skater the hull was sitting in the back forty waiting to be ............................. cut up . I have to say that the old girl has went thru many changes ,new deck that has been bonded to the hull , gas tanks firewall, cockpit panels , tunnel support's with more beef on the tunnel and a custom hatch on the new deck. I will try to show as much as i can with the pics along with everything that is involved in doing the gas tanks on Skaters and there is still much to be done or call it work in progress .

Ginger Why no drain channels on the hatches? Will you seal these hatches with weather strip etc.? Just curious.....

Yes the hatches will be sealed when the boat is done and at this point in time we still have a lot to do to finish her .

Glass wk is very clean, Looks good, I love to see old, ready to be cut up boats brought back to life. I go to all the races I can and have seen this boat many times. Is the dark area on the sides a strip of carbon fiber? Keep the pic's coming.....

Yes it is Carbon , along with Kevlar and E glass . When this boat was built it was a very light lay up . I will be posting more pics .

A clean layup is something i learned when i was employed at Skater because if you did not make the layup look as nice as you could you would surely hear about it and part of the reason it looks so nice is all the seams and some parts are glassed over with cheese cloth after you do your layup.
