you found it, its called scream and fly! This site is what is called a e-zine, electronic magazine on the web. There is more information here than you could find in 10,000 magazines, and it is a lot easier to find what you are looking for with the search function.

www.performanceboats.com is basically Hot Boat, all the same players. Printed issues only 6 per year, but only it's every month.

I think thats the one I flipped through a month or so back, while at the book store. If so, the cheapest boat in there, was worth more than my house, and only had a tiny pic of a outboard powered 32' skater with twins in an offshore race. Not my kind of mag. I'd just as well read a mag for astronauts, seeing that I have as good of a chance hopping a ride on a space shuttle as I do owning a half million dollar toy. I'd imagine thats why hot boat mag went away to begin with.

Who said I'm cheap I'm all about performance on the water
Anything trick that you think you want on your boat starts at $500, then goes up from there, in multiples of $500 ie; $500, $1000, $1500, $2000
I'm fortunate enought to make as many parts for myself as I can, saves big time on the cash, but eats much of my free time79 Southwind Tunnel Dragster 540ci BBC

As far as more magazine specific reading material that would interest you, there might be something new to look at later this year or early in 2010.

I saw the performance boat mag & I agree with Dorton. I remember hot boat mag as having smaller boats like tunnel & jet type boats. I'm interested in what twocents has posted.

He had a couple of threads with pretty positive feedback over on performance boats but they are gone now.

Advertisers support most of the magazines operating budget, a full page ad every month of 25' and up boats (multiplied by 8-10 companies) generates much more revenue than two dozen business card sized ads for pump parts and machinework in the want-ad section. Plus, the boat companies pay to have their boats included in the tests and shootouts. They also have to supply their own fuel, cleaning/detail crews and whatever else the magazine asks for. They had to pay me to write for them so the tech articles that you all want were looked upon as a cash drain, but the subscribers bought the mag for the tech, not the zillion dollar boat tests. I tried to get traditional non-boat suppliers to advertise, but the mag didn't THINK that they were interested in it and never pursued them. In MY opinion, most of the boat ads are ego boosters for the company owners/managers and little else. Most peeps get their purchasing info at the lake from a happy owner that has no reason to lie, rather from an ad that probably exaggerates the positives. THIS POST CONTAINS MY OPINIONS AND NOTHING ELSE. But even so, it is hard to justify trying to sell a potential client expensive ad space without a readership base either. In my opinion, the jet boat is the next "68 Camaro" without the inflated price or the rust. We work on and constantly upgrade our boats, and not just with billet speaker covers either. TIMINATOR
