    wedge question

I have a 12JG berkeley pump bone stock, no place diverter, my question is how will a 3 or 4 degree wedge affect my performance? how much will it increase my MPH?

Be hard to give a number but would guess around 3-5 mph maybe more, depending on motor and a mess of other principles.. Best thing is to try it, but would take the wrenches with on the water for a change back. May cause porpoising..

That is trial and error. Each boat is different and has different pump hardware etc. Your best bet for more speed and fun is to run a trim unit from place.

    Wedge

My boat had a 7 degree aluminum wedge with rusty iron bolts holding the bowl adaptor and a fixed nozzle
Went back with a stainless stud kit for the split bowl, a 7 degree nylon wedge, snoot and a manual place diverter

If this is not a race specific race boat, don't waiste time with a wedge. The boat will likeley gain some speed, but jet boats are prone to porpoise. Unless you can garrontee the C.G. will remain the same each time out, some aspect of hull performance will be sacreificed. A place diverter will overcome all these problems, adjusts to any position, to ovecome any undesired ride. Using a wedge will likely narrow the good ride window, to something sort of good. The Place Diverter has been for the most part, for recreational use, racers tried going without for years, but most all the top guys are using Place Dverter.
