For this race, I put a low water pickup gearcase on it and some Boyesen reeds. I upped the prop to a 30" Mercury cleaver and had some success. At the last race, I ran 13.4 seconds at about 79 MPH. My best pass today was a 13.19 at 86 MPH at 5900 RPMs. So that's a nice pickup.

Made it into the finals today. Lost to Rich Latter driving an XB-2002 with a Merc 260 on it. I had a 1 second head start and Rich got a GREAT start - cut an .055 light and just caught me at the end. But, we made more improvement in the ET. I switched from the 30" cleaver to a 29" SRX prop and dropped my best ET down to 13.06 at 82 MPH. That's amazing to me. My XB-2002 with my 225 Johnson on it ran 13.20 so I'm thoroughly impressed with this boat.

I can't say enough about how much fun it is to drive this rig. It's an absolute blast.

You guys did AWESOME for your first time at a rope race. George rattled off that 10.98 like it was no problem and you even got that yellow barge of yours down to the low 11s.

It won't take much to knock off that tenth of a second. I'm glad you had a good time. Unfortunately, I had to handle some of my "club duties" so I couldn't hang out as much as I would have liked.

    I am facinated with this!
What distance are you running? 1/4 or 1/8 mile?
How do you find the over hub props with these motors as far as hole shot go?

    we run...........

800 feet at blarney, the rest are 1/4 mile.....the results talked about here are 1/4 mile.....over the hubs work just fine....SAm was runnin a 29 SRX this weekend, and yes that is a stock 150, with the limiter still in......George was runnin a 30 mazco on a 3.4 with tight heads and no limiter..... I ran a 26 chopper with a ton of cup on a stock 3.4 without the limiter........the motors run awesome.....and contrary to popular belief..... racing is not dead with the advent of GREEN motors.....its only the beginning.......Go to the Evinrude dominates blarney thread in the general discussion watch the videos and tell me what u think about the holeshot.............

I should take a video of my little ol' 150 with my 26" Custom Cut drag prop...I about crapped my pants when I nailed it the first time. The whole boat lept out of the water and torqued over on the left side like I had a drag motor on it. It's really impressive.

I have not experimented with over hub props yet, but i can get hold of a 26 chopper, but these are a handful in the rough i have been told.
baring in mind mine is more offshore based. i am testing with renegades and rakers at the moment, oh and a trophy.
I am planning to try and get my boat up to lake coniston for next year for the flying mile speed @ records week.
I will be changing my username on here and post some pics.
I wont hijack this thread though.

Congratulation to you all. I have had faith in these E-Tecs from the first time I knew they existed. BRP know their stuff but are still learning the little things that many of you take for granted from your experiences. The Blarney thread is incredible. If BRP bite the Bullet & get into the V8, GOD help the opposition.

    runnin' not racin'

so down here in fort lauderdale, on oct 3rd maybe 5-10 boats runnin' in the water management canal/holiday park.

I'm as dialed in as no nose cone will allow, my allison r/r is a bit heavy, especially with the new 19 gallon tank..full, and...... you know............. the guy in the back seat holding the gps.
doesn't matter, still easing up and hitting the e-tec rev limiter at 6980 at 82.6 with the 29 rx

I'm thinkin' most of the guys will be faster, and i'm thinkin' none of them are running a stock e-tec

and i'm thinkin' it would be fun to mark out 1000 feet or a quarter, and ..side by side it a couple times
