Interlux makes a high build fiberglass primer ( InterFill?) that I was told will fill spider cracks and not shrink, since my 58' Biesmeyer has a ton of them, fix the major by the V method when it's smooth I will try it

Nothing fills in spider cracks, they come back unless ground out and glassed over again. check the other side, to see if there is a stress point on the inside of hull, that needs to be adressed first.
just finished my two year resto on my Southwind Tunnel Dragster
it all started here... http://www.banderlog.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=5311

This will more likely end up being a 2 year project than a winter project. I picked up this 71 18ft Cheetah for $350 off craigslist. Came with a BBC top mount starter and bellhousing, Berkley 12JC-A pump, tilt trailer w/ hyd. brakes and most of the basic necessities. Plans are to replace all the soft wood under the dash on the sides, pull the carpet and replace the floor, and learn how to fabricate an interior. I want two buckets up front with a wrap around bench in the rear. The hull is solid and not bowed on the trailer and the quarter stringers look great. Motor will be a mild 402 BBC w/oval port heads, single plane intake and through-transom exhaust. I'd also like to put a ski-deck on the transom.
I am still looking for advice on cam/valvetrain, carb and oil setup selections. Looking for about 60-65mph.
Boat and I are located in SE, MI.
9/29/09: The day I bought it.
And here it is two hours later after a good wash and shoveling out about 20lbs worth of compost.
The hull looks like it will buff out back to a real shine without a problem. The upper part is going to need some touch-ups and a new clear coat. I really like the metal flake so I may just respray it with a blue tinted clear to bring it back to it's former glory. Oh and the windshield is cracked, and I bet it's a fat chance in hell I can find a replacement.
I look forward to reading and learning a lot about vintage jet boats. I've wanted one for years and finally the stars aligned to bring me this.

P.S. This is also my intro post. HI ALL!

Courtesy of Hi-tech performance HTP they have a supplier of the bubble windshields. I have a friend that bought one for his Taylor SS fit perfect.

We have had many people ask where they could buy a windshield for the Taylor SS Boats. Below is the Information.

it will fit but dosnt have the provission for the O ring on the out side you could silicone it though to seal it to the transom cover

99% of the 0-ring installs leak anyway, most all are siliconed anyway.

My Boat is a Sanger and does not use the large trim on the transom , It uses the Sanger Trim Ring .
I will look up the JF pump to see .
