Is the light bow as much of an issue with the 24 as with the 22?
what kind of speeds and conditions caused the boat to get air born and do a 180? Was that a barrel roll or a back flip?

Never rode in a 24 but all progressions are pretty much known to be light in the bow. I've never experienced it hooking before but close to 90° a few times. Imo an offhore mid is a must with these hulls to keep the drive from kicking out. You'll be alright just get a season or two under your belt

What prop? RPM? Cruising speed at 3000 and 4000 RPM? Any other set up information?
I have the same boat and motor, 2006.

I had 380 k planes on mine, I remember talking to Kevin about the boat and I’ll never forget what he said to me. Learn how to drive the boat with the tabs down. Makes sense

Yea, I'd say he's mostly right there. I might recommend learning how to drive with them either level with the bottom or just slightly down. That's pretty much where I run mine all the time. The only time I pull them all the way up is when I want to make the jump to ludicrous speed.

BTW: I've driven an awful lot of boats in my 63 years and I work at a marina. Based on that experience, I'd say 380 K-Planes are pretty much over kill for a 22' boat. I've been out in some pretty hellacious water in mine and never felt I needed anything bigger than my 12"x12" tabs. For instance, note that my tabs aren't even half way down in this snot:

I never owned a 22, but I had a 24 with cabin similar to the blue and white boat on the web site. I will say that when running 75-85 my 24 felt more flighty than my 2006 hydrostream vegas. Cross winds pushed it around a lot more, probably because it is very light for its size and allowed the wind to blow it around more than the similar (though lighter) weight vegas which was much more sleek and had less surface area.

I had a 300x and saw over 80 with mine fairly consistent, but 78-80 any day.

Only once did my 24 stand up on me and make me think my day was over. I was running hard, 75-80ish and hit a hole in the water I never saw, otherwise with conservative trim and a nutral tab (380 k planes on mine) it would run through most anything.

He's just wants to get out and enjoy,not looking for top speed,hes out all the time, loves the boat,P,S you wont find a better built boat than a Progression

Running a little tab seems like a reasonable way to start out and learn the boat.
