motor to jack plate or jack to transom....

2.5" long 1/2" fine thread 304 stainless is what most jack plate mfg include for motor to jack

if you can get 308 or 316 stainless it would be stronger yet, 18-8 is comparable to grade 5 and is minimum required but not recommended imo..

personally id go to a mercury dealer and get a proper set of bolts in the length you need and that way you also get the brass nylock nuts to go with..

If you use stainless nuts, put a bit of wax on the threads to prevent seizing.
An old candle, spray furniture wax, turtle wax, anything works.)

    hope it helps

Also try and get Nyloc nuts so you can be fairly sure they won't loosen on you!
