Does anyone know if Mercury made a 225 Black Max in the early 80's?

Yes it was a great engine. My buddy is still running one on his Action Marine.

Got one, 1981. It actually came from tux974

I think they were made thru '82. It's basically a 200hp, the ratings were flywheel then and prop shaft after roughly '83.

    1961 Grumman 13, Johnson 15, "Gunkhole"

Is that the motor that has the Velocity running so well in your avatar

I'm sure is even stronger now with the fresh rebuild you just completed
