    water line question

    hey guys got a water question, the PO had it set up like this and i think its wrong and thats the reason i got it hot and cracked the head.
    hose comes in from thru wall from jet then comes to tee from tee one hose goes to the 2 headers, now from other side of tee hose goes to water faucet valve (to control water flow) then from valve to water pump out other side of water pump to back out to lake.......... shouldnt the valve be on the hose that goes to headers? water to engine should be full flow right?? anyone please give diagram or explain the proper way the water hoses should be routed...plz

    dont sound correct it should go into both sides of the water pump then out the thermastat housing and if your using basset type headers to them with a bypass

    The only reason to tee the incomming line is either to regulate the water pressure or run water through both the headers first (some headers have a top and bottom half, meaning you can pre-heat the incomming water before it gets to the engine to prevent thermal shock).

    Water off-take from the jet should go to either a header tank over the water pump or priority cooler type setup. Both these arrangments will have the intake for the water pump and outlet from the thermostat in it, and an overflow for each side to the headers (or risers) to waste. This setup also acts as a mixer of sorts, allowing the cold intake water to mix with the outcomming hot water, further preventing thermal shock (engine doesn't tend to like it when it's nice and warm at about 190 degrees, then you add water at say 40)
