Ride Plate Help
Just finished 17' CeeBee with 400HP 350.
Need to know about setup info on ride plate ?
Does plate go into bottom of hull under transome just past intake shoe ?

if you have a shoe installed on the intake it should/could have a step/lip machined in it the thickness of the ride plate with 4-5 bolt holes to retain the plate. this will give it a flat surface to ride on , the plates should be the width of the shoe which is usually 8 inches.

what angle should it be flat 2 degrees up or what

each application is different but 0 to 2 degrees up will be real close. i see some pulled up at an extreme angle but your assumption is right on.

what if your intake shoe doesn't have a place for the plate ? do i need to grind bottom of transsome so plate is flush ?

this is how they did it on one boat i had but i would space it down more to be even with the bottom of the boat and have it right up tight to the back of the boat

tread safely here. the ride plate needs to securely bolted as this will support most of the weight of the boat. a minor mis adjustment can result with it ripping the entire assembly off the boat or worse. this is why on a shoe and rideplate it is bolted securely in four or five places across the step. be careful
